Approximately sixteen years ago, a pioneering humanitarian initiative was launched in Hyderabad through the joint efforts of FOCUSS and Tanzeem Irshad-ul-Muslimeen.
Shaykh Ahsan al Hamoomi and his brother Shaykh Mohsin al Hamoomi being the reforming minds behind this, blood donation camps were organized for the first time in the city, marking a truly revolutionary step in community service. This unique initiative, powerfully reaffirmed the Islamic values of humanity, compassion, and selfless sacrifice.
Since its inception, thousands of Muslims come forward every year to donate blood on the blessed occasion of Mawlid un Nabi ﷺ, supporting patients associated with the Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society (TSCS India).
The initiative has played a vital role in saving lives and raising awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation. These blood donation camps are now held annually at several locations across Hyderabad and continue to receive an overwhelmingly positive and enthusiastic response from the community, reflecting the enduring impact and success of this noble effort.
